Mt. Yake (焼岳)as seen from Taisho Pond (大正池)
S'up, peeps?
No peaks in this post except as seen from below.
Mrs. Caveman and I dropped by Kamikochi for a little leaf-peeping the other day.
Thankfully, we scored some great weather and the scenery was dazzling.
I was deep in thought, looking up at Hotaka, reminiscing, and wishing I was there again.
That's just when Mrs. Caveman said, "Smile."
Ugh.
These guys were in the Sawando Parking Lot Bus Station/Taxi Stand
Note the white marking on his chest. These bears are called Tsukinowa Guma (月輪熊), which means "moon"-"ring"-"bear" because of this crescent-shaped marking.
I run into martens in the mountains from time to time.
Serow are cool. I see them sometimes. The "row" in serow is pronounced like row as in "row a boat", not like "have a row" meaning arguing.
Fox
We started walking at Taisho Ike
On the way home, we swung by the castle in Matsumoto.
Matsumoto is a nice city and it's castle rocks. You should check it out sometime.
Interested in hikes around here?
The first two peaks are visible in this post. The others are in the Northern Alps and not far from Kamikochi.
